When i was looking in the net for war memorials i came across many memorials but none of the pics was familiar to me because of their geographic background ,so i felt i am not using the key words so just for a change i typed countries without war memorial and
BOOM the first result itself was about our country. so i said to myself what the bloody hell
Indian soldiers has always fought against odds whether it be climate or strength and they have being victorious and to say that there is not a single brick laid in this country to remember them is real shame
Now the towering at Delhi will come to some of your mind .well guys it was build by the British to honor those Indian soldiers who sacrificed their life for crown in WW1 and afghan war. it was bestowed upon us by the British to Honor the 70,000 soldiers who gave up their life fighting for union jack
well just think about it ,a country who was ruling us as a part of Colonolisation felt it is necessary to remember those guys but what about us, well i hear all those flashy dialogues about India is above this country in defense ,doctors all that but all those are simply superficial (i don't mean to ignore our credits) but i JUST want you to be realistic and see what is happening around you..
Many govts came and most of it completed the tenure where as some vanished like soap bubbles and i dont think they had given a serious thought about it.And defense personnel's have kept forward a plan of setting up a war memorial beneath the lawns of India gate which has being lying tangled in some govt offices for over three decades, its just a wall on outside without spoiling the visage of India gate and underneath it will be a spacious hall like structure where all the brave men who gave up their life for our safety will be remembered, come on our fellow brothers are not asking any Multi crore contracts or anything just a wall or may be a building
as a proof to the coming generation that other than GREAT freedom fighters there has being some fighters who fought for the pride and safety of independent 'INDIA'.
ITS REAL SHAME THAT THEY ARE NOT REMEMBERED
AND THE TRUTH IS NEITHER YOU NOR ME REALLY DOES KNOW HOW MANY BATTLES WE(THEY) HAVE TO FIGHT TO PUT UP A WAR MEMORIAL AND NOW I EVEN DOUBT WHETHER I WOULD BE ALIVE TO SEE THE NAMES OF OUR GREAT HEROES ALTOGETHER UNDER ONE ROOF..
LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
Ever heard of this well our country do celebrate this day to remember and honour the sporting legend 'DHYAN CHAND' (hockey wizard)and the interesting fact is that neither him or this day is remembered (likeTHE WAY he has tobe remembered). And while i was going through some news i came across someone commenting how it went unnoticed.
well i am aware that a hockey competition is conducted to honour the greatest of all ,but in my hometown what i saw was just a hand written board stating aug 29 Dhyan Chand day but nothing else .. why is it like that,
is it pure ignorance or you dont know about him well here is a glimpse of that legendary profile..................
DHYANCHAND
DOB 29-08-1905
JOINED ARMY AT THE AGE OF 16
LAURELS TO THE LEGEND
Gold medal 1928,1932 & 1936 olympics.
Honoured "Padma Bhushan"
GREAT INSTANCE IN 'THE LONG SPAN OF LEGEND'
Its said that he was really unhappy with our performance in montreal olympics (seventh). And he said to a Doctor that indian hockey is dying and then he went to a coma and died in 1979.
WELL WHAT WAS HE TRYING TO SAY, HIS DEATH OR THE DEATH OF HOCKEY EITHER WAY ITS A LOSS TO OUR COUNTRY.
Its really sad that a great figure like him was leading a miserable life and died ,lets not make the same mistake of our fathers .Even if we havent seen his magic lets remember him and celebrate the birthday of a LEGEND
SO GUYS 29TH AUGUST "NATIONAL SPORTS DAY"..

GREAT INSTANCE IN 'THE LONG SPAN OF LEGEND'
- In 1936 olympics he played barefoot against germany and took india to a stunning victory of 7-0 scoring 6 out of 7.
- In Holland authorities broke his stick to check whether there is any magnet hidden inside.
- In Japan they thought there is some glue in his stick which keeps the ball attracted.
- In vienna fans made a statue of him with four hands & stick because they believe noordinary man can play like him.
- In a long career of 22 years more than any world class player he has scored more than 1000 goals.
- Though he was a legend he died impecunious and uncared in hospital and he was leaving on a meagre pension.
